Responsable de l’unité de virologie de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos (H/F)

Description de la mission

Il/elle a pour mission de concevoir et mettre en œuvre des programmes de recherches sur les virus considérés comme prioritaires au Laos et dans la région.

Il/elle développe des programmes concernant :

  • L’étude des cycles des viroses au Laos
  • Le développement de méthodes de diagnostic et d’identification des virus en particulier émergents
  • Le développement d’une activité d’expertise dans le domaine des maladies virales émergentes

Au sein d’une unité composée pour le moment d’une post-doc, de 2 chercheurs juniors laotiens et de 4 techniciens de laboratoire, il/elle a la responsabilité de :

  • superviser et former les jeunes chercheur/se.s et techniciens, encadrer des étudiant.e.s laotien.ne.s ou étranger/ère.s.
  • Identifier des axes de recherche innovant, en accord avec le Directeur de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos, pouvant avoir un impact positif pour la santé publique au Laos et identifier les sources de financement
  • Développer des outils de diagnostic spécifiques aux domaines de recherche
  • Collaborer avec les autres équipes de l’Institut et d’autres centres de recherche au Laos, ainsi qu’avec les équipes des autres instituts du Réseau International des Instituts Pasteur.
  • Développer des programmes de recherche avec les équipes de soins des hôpitaux et mener des recherches cliniques.
  • Conduire les programmes de recherches en respectant les budgets alloués par les bailleurs, le reporting sur ces programmes ainsi que leurs délais.
  • Apporter son expertise aux autorités de santé (ministère de la santé ; OMS…)
  • Coordonner la démarche qualité de l’institut en supervisant notamment les aspects relatifs à la sureté et sécurité biologique
  • Publier dans des revues scientifiques et médicales internationales
  • Tenir l’ambassade de France régulièrement informée de ses activités.

Il/elle a aussi la responsabilité du laboratoire de sécurité BSL3+. Ce laboratoire étant utilisé également par d’autres unités de recherche de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos, l’assistant technique a autorité pour coordonner les activités et les accès à ce laboratoire.

Il/elle aura également le titre et la responsabilité de « biosafety/biosecurity officer » de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos.
