American Society for Microbiology seeks Editor nominations (including self-nominations) for theJournal of Bacteriology® for terms starting July 1, 2021. Four positions are open, including a mini-review editor. We also plan to launch a program of guest Editors – all nominees for the Editor position will automatically be considered for guest Editor opportunities.
The ASM Journals Committee and JB also seek to improve the representation of scientists from underrepresented groups throughout the publishing ecosystem and are committed to ensuring that diverse voices and viewpoints are represented among ASM journal editorial boards. JB will appoint editors who understand that the impact of JB is dependent on the diversity of their authors, reviewers, and editors and plans to ask candidates to state their experience and commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in their applications. Individuals from groups underrepresented in the sciences are strongly encouraged to apply, as are scientists from across the globe.
