We are seeking a highly motivated technician to join our group in the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (www.genomenviron.org), which focuses on microbial adaptation to environmental perturbation. This 1-year position is part of a European project on water quality surveillance. Job tasks include sampling river water and wastewater, measuring biological contaminants (E. coli, ESBL, somatic coliphages and F-specific coliphages) in vitro, extracting DNA from the bacterial and non-bacterial fraction and participating to metagenomic sequencing library preparation workflows.Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology/Biochemistry/ Biology and at least 2 years of experience in the laboratory. Candidates must have expertise on microbial culture techniques and basic molecular approaches. Previous experience using ISO methods 10705-1 and 2:2000 will be highly appreciated.
